About

Milspouse: A civilian who fell in love with a military member and decided that deployments, TDYs and relocating every few years wasn’t a deal breaker.

I never thought I would ever be a Milspouse. In fact I fully intended not to marry a man who was in the military, but then love happened. My college sweetheart joined the Air Force in 2008, I became an Air Force wife in 2010 and we had 3 little awesome Air Force babies. I have no regrets, but I just wish I had a handbook when I first became a Milspouse. I’ve been learning as I go and I’ve learned a lot over the years and I want to share my experiences to hopefully help newlyweds and veteran milspouses alike.

Another thing I wish I had a handbook for is being the parent of a child with Autism. My son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2015 and navigating the military word with a special needs kid has definitely been a learning experience. Luckily, I am an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) professional and I at least familiar with the autism world and I’m here to help parents who aren’t.

With all of that said…Welcome to my life!

I’m a quasi-crunchy military wife and autism mom with a passion for  ABA and all things related to surviving this wonderful military life I married into. I’m just sharing my experiences and things I’ve learned along the way and I’m hoping that in the process someone learns from my experiences or at least gets a good giggle.

Again… Welcome to my life.
